Harness Your Students' Digital Smarts

I think this blog concept is a great way to teach students how to navigate a computer well, as well as, being able to think more on their own. It is more enlightening for students to learn concept through their own ways of learning, verses learning something because they were told to learn it. These students are given more resources to use to learn while using this blogger programing. It also connects them to kids all around the world.
America, surprisingly, is actually behind technology wise compared to other countries. I gathered that information from the "did you know" youtube clip i watched earlier. This way of learning will help students be more aware with technology today.

The Importance of Creativity

I once heard that when a child is young that their loud outburst of yelling, screaming, or laughing is their way of showing different kinds of emotions. I also heard that if one gets on to a child for making these outburst that child will later grow up in life to have less of a personality that it could have potentially had. In a way I think Sir Ken Robinson was saying the same thing. Education needs to worry less about keeping a child quit and doing its work, and more by the different ways each child shows their emotions.
I am one of those children that Sir Ken Robinson talked about. Many educators told my parents I had a learning disability for the simple fact that I couldn't stay still for a full hour and a half lecture. I was fortunate enough to have a mother that refused to medicate me for my ADD until recently. I think if she would have given in earlier in my life to these teachers my personality could easily be very different from what it is today. If educators today would realize that each child displays their personalities in different ways these children would have a better opportunity of standing out for what they believe in, or what they are interested in.

Did You Know? You tube video

That was a very enlightening video. It showed a lot about the future in America, as well as, where America stands with other countries. I thought it was interesting that Bermuda uses the internet more than us or even Japan or India! Its it very unstable to me that we are being taught and trained about jobs that don't even exist yet.
Technology has expanded so much just within the last decade. The fact that a computer will soon only cost a thousand dollars and is smarter than the human species is down right scary in my opinion. It is crazy to me that there are as many text messages sent in a day that equals the amount of people on this earth. I realize that i add my fair share of messages to that statistic. Technology it what this whole universe revolves around today. As much as people might not like that that might as well get used to it, because there is no turning back now.
